Metro In Dino 2025 Movie Review

“Metro In Dino (formerly Metro… In Dino) embraces human relationships with warmth and wit, delivering a heartfelt jadoo ki jhappi! The film follows four couples—college sweethearts Shibani (Neena Gupta) and Parimal (Anupam Kher), Kajol (Konkona Sen Sharma) and Monty (Pankaj Tripathi), Shruti (Fatima Sana Shaikh) and Akash (Ali Fazal), and Chumki (Sara Ali Khan) and Parth (Aditya Roy Kapur)—as they navigate love’s highs, lows, tremors, and even a ‘mirthquake’ or two. Each pair grapples with emotional complexities, psychological challenges, and distinctly human responses to life’s ups and downs.

At its heart, the film suggests that sustaining a long-term relationship means falling in love with the same person repeatedly. Temptations and fleeting infatuations may arise, but sanity often triumphs over fleeting passions. The interplay between the couples culminates in a celebration of love defined by deep emotional understanding and mutual space, though not without its gray areas.

Sandeep Shrivastava and Samrat Chakravarthy’s sharp dialogues bring to life Anurag Basu’s evocative story and screenplay, weaving a delicate yet powerful tapestry of human flaws, strengths, and contradictions. Basu’s direction handles these complexities with compassion and finesse, making the film a standout in Hindi cinema. It’s a near-masterpiece, blending social relevance, commercial appeal, and soulful music—a textbook for impactful storytelling.

One minor quibble, much like Shibani’s character might share, is the bittersweet resolution for Parimal’s daughter-in-law (Darshana Banik). A happier outcome would’ve been ideal, but as the film suggests, a touch of pain is part of life’s metro mosaic.”
